Module 1

Principles of Animation and Basic Locomotion

What is this Workshop all about?

This Module is designed to break the technical barrier and start your journey on becoming an artist on the matter. Here is where you will master basic aspects which will provide life to your characters, such as weight, balance, arcs, lines of action and more!

The student will start with the typical ball animation, which contains an amazing amount of valuable knowledge behind it, such as rhythm, personality, external forces such as gravity and the use and understanding of the Graph Editor and its tangents, all the way through learning the basics of a natural walk (Vanilla Walk) to learn about the basic locomotion of how the hips/legs/feet work in a hierarchy to achieve the proper bio-mechanics.

Each week, the student will receive pre-recorded video tutorials. During the week, we provide 2 live sessions where you will meet with your teacher and fellow students from all around the world and you will have live revisions/feedback from the assignments. These sessions are recorded and available for download so you can keep them and watch them at any time. You will learn from fellow classmates in addition to your own feedback from the teacher.

All other days of the week when there are no live sessions,  all students are able to send their progress to our campus to receive offline feedback.  With this said, no student is left behind until the next live session. We are always available to provide you with the necessary feedback so that your work is never stalled.
